Oinking Acres Farm Rescue & Sanctuary in Brownsburg, Indiana

Olivia Head established this safe haven for unwanted pot-bellied pigs in 2017, and it has become a popular visitor attraction ever since. Oinking Acres in Brownsburg is a true gem, offering self-guided tours of the farm.

But this safe haven offers more than just homes for pigs. Olivia has added many other farm animals over the years, including donkeys, birds, and other abandoned animals. Check out open tour hours, special events, including pig yoga, and more ways to get involved.

Avon Haunted Bridge in Avon, Indiana

This historic Avon landmark has become a local legend with long-circulated rumors of a drunken rail worker who was buried alive in wet cement or a young mother walking along the tracks with her infant when she fell from the bridge.

Not only is it a beautiful architectural structure, but all the local folklore makes it a not-to-be-missed stop in Hendricks County. The best way to see it is by entering Washington Township Park.

The TARDIS on display at Dr. Who North America in Camby.

The only museum and retail store in the U.S. dedicated to the long-running British television show Doctor Who is located in Camby, Indiana.

A trip to Who North America remains a must for any fan of the show. Visitors can get pictures with the replica TARDIS, find actual items from the show on the museum side, and shop for action figures, clothing, and more on the retail side.

Hendricks County Historical Museum in Danville

Until the 1970s, the Hendricks County Historical Museum still served as the county's jail and sheriff’s residence. A visit includes rooms with artifacts from the late 1800s to early 1900s, giving you a feel for how the sheriff's family lived.

But the most popular stop on the tour remains the jail in the basement, which definitely has a medieval vibe. You can learn about the jail's history and what life was like there during public hours on Fridays and Saturdays, or schedule a private tour.
