Nestled on 5 acres in Franklin, Indiana, Dollie’s Farm is a captivating blend of generational history, floral beauty, and lasting memories. What was once land purchased from secret egg money has transformed into flourishing fields of lavender and flowers.

Originally purchased in the 1930s by Dollie and Gilbert Grose, this land has been in their family for six generations. It all started with chickens, as Dollie would secretly deposit the money she earned from selling eggs. With this secret savings account, she gifted her family an additional forty acres to join the already existing forty-six acres. These fields are now home to what owner Tricia Wilson has aptly named Dollie’s Farm.

Tricia Wilson, great-granddaughter of Dollie and Gilbert, has always had a love for flowers and family. A huge goal for this farm was to pair those two together. Tricia not only wanted to sell flowers, but also to give families memories they can hold on to forever.

“We want people to come to Dollie’s and leave with a really good memory that they add to their list of things they really love doing as a family,” said Wilson.

One of the best features of Dollie’s is the U-Pick experience. When guests arrive, they will be handed a pair of shears and a flower bucket. They are invited to cut their own bouquets that will later be wrapped for their trip home. In these rows of flowers lie over 80 varieties of flowers, as well as 17 different kinds of Sunflowers. They also offer a We-Pick option where workers will walk the fields and arrange a bouquet based on the preferences you selected. Lavender and flowers are not the only things Dollie’s offers. Dollie’s Flower Shed offers a variety of lavender-based products such as skin care, body products, home products, and essential oils. There are also several other products in the shop, like jewelry, home décor, vases, honey, and so on.

Now, you might be thinking farms normally have animals, right? This farm is no different. You absolutely must meet Harry and Bonnie Bloom, their resident peacocks. In fact, they have peacocks that roam around the farm. There are also events where guests can learn about these peacocks and take photos with them. As they are a farm started on money from chicken eggs, Tricia felt it was only right to also have chickens. Guests can feed these chickens as well as take classes to learn about the care and upkeep of chickens.

With their second big lavender bloom coming early fall, Dollie’s Farm needs to be on your to-do list for this year. Whether you are looking to stroll the flower fields, attend a sunset jazz night, or enjoy a family night with goat yoga, Dollie’s Farm is a place the whole family can enjoy.
