Up, up, and away! There’s something magical about hot air balloons, and no Hamilton County event captures the excitement better than the Jupiter Flights Balloon Festival at Conner Prairie.
Scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5, through Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, the annual event welcomes guests to enjoy live music; seasonal food items (including tasty goodies from the Apple Store); and a full schedule of fun, kid-friendly activities that include barrel train rides, an Ag Adventures playground, and dry tubing runs. Previews of this year’s Headless Horseman corn maze are also available.
The centerpiece of the whole weekend, though, is the appearance of several dozen hot-air balloons inflated across the open grounds. A colorful balloon glow kicks off the festivities Friday evening, lighting up the grounded balloons against the night sky for all to admire.
The balloons take to the sky on Saturday morning for flight competitions culminating in the final race on Sunday and the announcement of a grand champion.
Adventurous visitors can get a bird’s-eye view of all the action below with a ride on Conner Prairie’s tethered 1859 Balloon Voyage experience.
