Looking for a fun place to pit stop, grab a sweet treat, and enjoy a few chuckles to boot? Steer into the Uranus Fudge Factory where I-70 crosses U.S. 40 on the east side of Richmond, just ahead of the Ohio state line.
The Richmond shop is actually the third location for the Missouri-based franchise; the second (and the first store in Indiana) opened in Anderson in 2022. Giant rainbow-colored letters out front let customers know they’ve found the right place.
Full of cheeky humor, Uranus capitalizes on its borderline naughty theme across the décor and merchandise, and it’s sure to illicit a few giggles from the kids (and quite possibly the adults, too).
The fudge, of course, is the namesake attraction—18 different flavors to be exact—from classic chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter to some more creative variations such as blueberry cheesecake, maple walnut, and Butterfinger. Samples are available for anyone who wants to try before they buy.
In addition to the fudge, Uranus carries signature collections of candy, chocolates, taffy, popcorn, beef jerky, “Redneck Nutz,” ice cream, and sodas.
You’ll also want to spend a little time wandering up and down the aisles to browse the store’s whimsical array of novelty items, glassware, gifts, t-shirts, hats, stickers, and magnets.
