Hoosier Handlebars E-trike

In a nutshell, the company was created by two amazing gentlemen, Liam Newlin and Brian Marshall, with a love of both biking and vintage-style mustaches and beards. The name? It’s a perfect representation of the whimsicality of both the three-wheeled tour and the gents who take you around the Clarksville area.

Hoosier Handlebars - Big Four Bridge

My daughter and I were met at the foot of the Big Four Bridge (a bikeable and walkable pedestrian bridge spanning the Ohio River from Indiana to Kentucky) and chose an hour-long e-trike trip.

When we started, we biked over the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge and back then headed to Falls of the Ohio State Park and an adjacent bike trail. The park is filled with beauty and countless fossils. I took the lead on one bike, and my daughter happily took a back seat.

The e-trikes are very user-friendly, but we received a tutorial on riding them properly and safely. We wore helmets during the entire trip and took a few breaks as it was a hot autumn day. Our guides brought a big cooler of bottled water, so it was easy to stay hydrated.

A personal anecdote of how the guides went above and beyond for us: I have low blood sugar, and while it’s generally well maintained, I suffered a bout of it during a break on the tour. Brian and Liam were more than diligent in finding a quick sugar fix for me so I could continue. They didn’t have to ask park guests for it, but they did, and I’m forever thankful.
