There are lots of great bars and taprooms across Indiana, and you can check out the best of Steuben County’s beers and IPAs with the Craft Beer Trail! From unique tastes to classic pub fare done right, these bars know how to serve up a good time. Read about some of these locations below to decide which one you’ll hit up this weekend.
Don Marquardt keeps things fresh at Timbers Steakhouse & Seafood with rotating seasonal craft beers on tap. He features experimental IPAs, Kentucky Bourbon varieties, and even Sun King’s latest brew; you’ve just got to keep going back to see what’s new! Regulars also enjoy early evening cocktails.
The folks at Timbers love to brag that they have the largest menu in the area. Not only do they have quality offerings of classic surf and turf fare, they do breakfast, lunch sandwiches, and even burgers! You’ve got to try some of their original appetizers, too. They’ve got lots of room for patrons and offer an event space called “The Loft” for rent.

The Venue distinguishes itself from other taprooms in the area as well, a music venue. They support the local live music scene with a recently expanded stage for their regular weekend entertainment. The Venue hosts a wide range of artists so everyone can enjoy the atmosphere on one evening or another.
The Venue honors the business that came before—Skip’s Party Place—by keeping the original brick walls and authentic wooden trim that patrons knew for over 40 years. And they keep things fresh with remodeled bathrooms and a recreation room upstairs, expanded menu offerings, and high-definition TVs to keep everyone up to date with the night’s sporting events.
Expect the unexpected at the 6 on James! Formerly known as 6 Autumns Food & Spirits, this bar boasts the largest bourbon selection in Indiana. They’ve got a wide variety of drinks that always includes something light and refreshing, a fresh and fruity drink, and a dark stout or porter.
They’ve got a full page of small font for their extensive beer menu, some on tap and others on deck. Don’t miss out on the food, either. Grab a steak, burger, or any other of their great eats for a dinner overlooking Lake Charles.
The team at Buck Lake Bar & Grill promises friendly service, good food, and cold beer. Established in the building formerly home to McCool's Tavern, they blend small-town charm with lively vibes. The menu offers a wide range of eats from Nashville hot chicken to prime rib. Their drinks include straightforward beers and handmade cocktails. If you'd like to bring the family, don't worry! They've even got a kids' menu for the young ones.
