While the food at The Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake is top notch and enough reason to pay it a visit, it shares the spotlight with its location along the shore of Cedar Lake. Open for dinner on weeknights and lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday, it’s an ideal spot to catch a beautiful sunset from either the patio or window-lined dining room.

The 21-page menu of cocktails, beers, wine, and spirits includes top-shelf bourbon flights; wines by the glass, half-bottle, and bottle; craft cocktails; and more, offering plenty of options to sip while looking out over the boat docks, gazebo, small sandy beach, and the Inn at Lassen’s Resort, the town’s historical association museum.

The menu is filled with tantalizing starters, hefty salads, comforting soups (including lobster bisque and a gooey French onion), and sinful desserts. There’s a nice seafood selection and a group of premium cuts that you can request to have brought out on a 500-degree plate.

The restaurant has amassed a number of awards—from being voted Best in the Region in several categories to a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence to Open Table Diner’s Choice for 2025.

Thursday through Sunday, local talent provides live music. Happy Hour takes place Monday – Thursday from 4 – 6 pm with discounted drinks and appetizers. And on Wine Wednesdays, you can get bottles at half-off.

The restaurant features two floors for a combined total of 11,600 square feet with the full-service restaurant with seating for up to 250 and bar on the lower level and a private dining facility for weddings, showers, birthdays, and corporate events on the second floor, equipped with a wooden dance floor surrounded by windows.
